Kate Russell takes a look at her favourite apps from 2012.
Safe Knight
is across a number of platforms and provides a service that stores a picture, GPS data and nominated contacts to help in times of crisis if something goes wrong.
Foap
is a smartphone photo service for iOS that sells images for $10 a time, split evenly between the company and the person uploading the photo.
Scoopshot
is a similar service but is more news story based. This allows users to set their own price and terms.
A third photo service is
Eyeem,
challenging Instagram to photo filter app dominance. It even groups photos by event or location to make them easier to find.
