The National Archive's online Olympics collection contains hundreds of historic documents and images relating to the Games.

If you are in the capital itself at any time during the Olympics, Get Ahead of the Games offers news and advice about roads and public transport around all venues.

If trains are too crowded then cycling could be the solution. Some of the smartphone apps to help find bikes available to hire are, for Apple's iOS, London Cycle and for Google Android, Cycle Hire Widget Lite.

Visit Stratford will explain information about visiting the Olympic Village area.

For live streaming action and additional content, BBC Olympics is a free app, with an international version without streaming video.

Another way to watch the competition on the move is the Eurosport Player app.

Finally, the official Olympic Athlete hub provides a way to connect with athlete's social accounts.
