Webscape: Facebook and apps without the web

This week, web reviewer Kate Russell puts the cloud in her pocket with a suite of free apps and software programmes that run from any external drive, such as a USB stick.

If you need to send large files over the Internet, sendiod.com allows rapid transfer of up to a one gigabyte file size through your browser by establishing a person to person direct link.

For iPhone users, there is an app called Free App Magic that showcases three apps every 24 hours that are free to download for a limited time.

And what will Facebook's user interface - Timelines - offer when it launches in a couple of weeks?
