Microsoft has unveiled the first major update to its Windows Phone 7 operating system it launched last year. The update, codenamed Mango, introduces more than 500 changes.
Handset maker Nokia began a partnership with Microsoft earlier this year and it is expected that the new OS will be the one used in most Nokia smartphones.
Dan Simmons highlights some of the key updates that will be available to existing Windows Phone 7 owners and new customers from autumn.
