Webscape - Free text messages and historic maps

Researchers at the London School of Economics are studying how your surroundings impact your state of mind. Users in the UK can take part by using Mappiness for the iPhone - an app which submits data to the researchers anonymously.

Travel back in time to Berlin with Shoothill's TimeMap - a site that combines modern maps of the German capital with maps drawn in 1869. If you're a podcasting fan, another great resource is Voisse , which allows you to record audio and create podcasts and audio slideshows.
