We are constantly being told there are no barriers to communication with the internet - but in practice that is not strictly true. Companies and even countries try to fence in and block out traffic for a variety of reasons.

But people have been developing ways around these geographic controls - using proxy servers, and VPNs, virtual private networks.

How are the content providers responding to the challenge of virtual private networks?
