Webscape - visual searches on the mobile phone

Kate Russell gives her latest selection of the best sites on the World Wide Web.

EVENTSV (www.eventsv.com)

Eventsv.com is a new search and price comparison tool that links up to various event ticket providers around the world.

This fairly new site launched with 100,000 listings of music, cultural and sporting events.

Once the right ticket has been found, the site also suggests hotels in the area and information about the city in question.

GOOGLE GOGGLES (www.google.com/mobile/goggles/)

Goggles is an impressive app from Google's Mobile Labs. This visual search tool is available as a free download for Android phones.

It uses the phone's camera to take a snap of an object and analyses it for visual matches in Google's image catalogue. It will even look at a bar-code to return information about the product.

Google plans to make this app available for other mobile phones.

WIRE GOGGLES (http://dozingcatsoftware.com/WireGoggles/)

Wire Goggles gives you a wireframe view of the world through your Android camera.

The free version has six colours and two quality settings. Upgrade to the paid version for 16 colours, a high quality mode, and the ability to save wireframe snapshots as PNG files.
