Kate Russell gives us her latest selection of the best sites on the World Wide Web.

MobuzzTV website

The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

We start with the world of podcasts this week, and if you like your shows with some visual flair then I am sure this website suggested by Duyke Allen will be right up your avenue.

At MobuzzTV you will find oodles and oodles of tech related stories, all packaged up in a bandwidth-friendly three minute show and delivered every day in either streaming video feeds or directly to your inbox if you prefer.

And if you cannot stand being tied to your PC then you can stream the show through your mobile device if it has an internet connection. Use the links under the viewing window to choose the format you want to play and you are away.

Once you have enjoyed the daily show why not browse back through the archives. This is great content well presented, and it is totally free.

Now you cannot really say fairer than that can you?

EurekAlert! website

The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

The world of science is continually changing, with new discoveries and scientific theories always being looked at. Keep up-to-date with the latest news with EurekAlert!

This is a global news service operated by The American Association for the Advancement of Science, and it provides a great central database for research organisations and students to make the world aware of their work.

The opening page breaks the content down by topic from Agriculture to Technology and Engineering. Just click a link to jump to that section or search a particular topic using the search box at the top.

There is simply loads of content on this website. If you like to keep informed about science and technology it is a must-have bookmark in your browser.

Mobileburn.com website

The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

Next up, the world of mobiles revealed.

With so much talk about convergence, and new mobile technology, it is important to get informed before making a purchasing decision. Mobileburn.com is the place to do this.

The meat on this website is its in-depth reviews of mobile devices and technologies, such as bluetooth headsets and keyboards. There is a cell plan comparison feature, but that is for a US audience. The hardware reviews are useful the world over though.

You can jump straight in to the top stories and latest release on the opening page, or if you know what device you are interested in then use the search box at the top.

All reviews have pictures and a full in-depth briefing about the features of the device. If you are anything like me you will never use half of them, but it is nice to know what you are getting for your money.

BrainPOP website

The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites.

An educational site now, covering all manner of subjects from science to health and technology - all wrapped up in a very inviting environment aimed at catching the interest of children - called BrainPOP.

The design is bright and busy, each animated button links through to a subject specific homepage which lays out the features in a clickable grid.

You will notice that a few of the features at the top of the list have a FREE banner across them. That is because they are free to watch and enjoy for first time users.

If you want to have access after a couple of watches you need to register for a 14 day-free-trial, and then after that you will have to pay for a subscription, but 14 days should keep your young ones occupied over the school break for starters.

Click a topic in the grid to open the subsequent page. You can now click to play the Flash movie explaining your subject of choice.
