Tim Muffett

Breakfast reporter Tim Muffett joined the BBC in 2002 as a correspondent for BBC Three's irreverent entertainment programme Liquid News, but he's now one of the regular reporting team on Breakfast.

After graduating from Birmingham University with a degree in Medieval and Modern History, he cut his TV teeth as a Video Journalist for London cable station Channel One - "a completely multi-skilled approach to television, and an incredibly steep learning curve" says Tim.

He then shamelessly pocketed the Murdoch shilling for five years as a reporter for Sky News, two years of which were spent as the station's Los Angeles Correspondent.

Life in California involved covering an array of stories from across the US - including the 2000 Election and the September 11 attacks, not to mention a fair amount of showbiz glam as well.

He covered the Emmys, Grammys and Oscars: "Well, stood outside them in crowded press pens. It's not quite as glamorous as it sounds".

Tim is now one of Breakfast's core team of reporters and he says he's covered every kind of story from bird flu to snoring.
