Saturday 31st October • Spiders According to a recent survey, there are at least thirty spiders in every house and garden in the UK. Hypnotherapist Laura Spicer gave us advice on how to overcome a fear of spiders.
Friday 30th October • Patricia Cornwell A new book out by multimillion pound best selling American crime writer. It's called "The Scarpetta Factor" and is part of the 20 year old and well loved Scarpetta series. • Jamie Cullum He has a new album 'The Pursuit' and single called 'I'm All Over It Now'. He's also taking part in a big 75th anniversary on BBC Maida Vale Studios.

Wednesday 28th October • Portico Quartet In just a few years Portico Quartet's hypnotic music has taken them from busking on London's South Bank, to a Mercury Prize nomination, to performing at the Royal Opera House and recording at Abbey Road with producer John Leckie. Their album is out now called Isla and they have a UK tour coming up.
Tuesday 27th October • James May Top Gear presenter James May will be joining us on the sofa to talk about his latest BBC Two series called James May's Toy Stories. The four part programme follows James's personal mission to get kids out of their bedrooms to play with more retro toys like Plasticine and Lego. Toy Stories starts tonight on BBC Two at 8pm.
Monday 26th October • The Soldiers Sergeant Major Gary Chilton, Sergeant Richie Maddocks and Lance Corporal Ryan Idzi make history by becoming the first group of serving, British soldiers to release an album. Since being approached last year to record a mix of original material and classic covers, they signed to Warner Records on the strength of soon-to-be first single 'Coming Home'.
Friday 23rd October • Get Online Day The Department for Children, Schools and Families has teamed up with Intel, Ofcom, NHS Choices and Learn Direct to bring us Get Online Day today. 700 UK online centres around Britain will be open all day to people who do not know how to use the internet. This is estimated at 17 million people, 29% of the adult population. They will be hosting a variety of workshops and courses for beginners. To find out your online centres call 0800 77 1234.
Thursday 22nd October • Stephen Graham Home grown British acting talent and Hollywood Star Stephen Graham talks about the release of 'Public Enemies' on DVD, his success on both side of the Atlantic and why there should be more money for great drama.

• John O'Farrell Author, broadcaster and comedy scriptwriter John O'Farrell talks about his latest book, 'The Utterly Exasperated History of Modern Britain'. • Precious 'Precious' has been causing something of a sensation across the Atlantic. It's co-produced by Oprah Winfrey, it stars Mariah Carey and Lenny Kravitz, and last month it followed Slumdog Millionaire in taking a top prize at the Toronto Film Festival. Gabourey Sidibe joined us on the sofa to talk about the film before it's UK premiere tomorrow.

Friday 16th October • Crimson Wing Set against the remote wilderness of Lake Natron, in Northern Tanzania, the film follows the birth, life and survival of a million crimson-winged flamingos. 'The Crimson Wing - The Mystery of the Flamingos' is out now.
Thursday 15th October • Ranulph Fiennes He's talking about his book, "Mad Dogs and Englishmen", which traces his eccentric and exceptional family tree including Charlemagne, the count 'who nearly persuaded William the Conqueror to retreat at Hastings', a murderer, a wife prisoner, a poacher, a Fiennes who has decapitated by a London mob and England's greatest female traveller of the 17th century. • Couples Retreat Jason Bateman and Malin Akerman star in Couples Retreat, a comedy cantered around four couples who settle into a tropical-island resort for a vacation. While one of the couples is there to work on the marriage, the others fail to realize that participation in the resort's therapy sessions is not optional. Also stars Vince Vaughan and Jon Favreau.

You can see 'Jimmy's Food Factory' which begins next Wednesday at 7.30pm on BBC One. • The Great North South Divide Former Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott and his wife Pauline are northerners born and bred. But since John became an MP in 1970 the couple have actually lived a double life; spending as much time in the south as back at home in Hull. Now they've embarked on a national tour of Britain to find out the truth about the so called north/south divide. You can see 'Prescott: The North South Divide' on BBC Two, tonight at 9pm.
