A town called Cranford

A five part drama about life in a small 19th century Cheshire town won the hearts of television audiences and critics alike when it was first broadcast two years ago.

Cranford, was a skilful adaptation of three Elizabeth Gaskell novels, woven together by the award winning writer Heidi Thomas. Two more instalments are now in production and we'll find out about the world premiere of her new play, The House of Special Purpose.
