Rail versus road
Breakfast's low-carb family
The Hawksworth family look for a green fridge
Throughout 2007 we are following the progress of the Hawksworth family from Castle Donington.

They are attempting to reduce their carbon footprint, and save money on their energy bills.

And we've done some number-crunching, and discovered how much they are contributing to global warming.

Now we want them to go 'low carb', and Declan is on hand to help.

  • Breakfast's low carb family

For this month's visit to the Hawksworth family, Declan looks at rail versus road, and which does the least amount of damage to the environment.

We set the family a challenge: a trip to London by train, returning by road and asked them to consider comfort, cost, time, stress and CO2 emissions.
