Breakfast's low carbon family
You may need more loft insulation than you think
Throughout 2007 we are following the progress of the Hawksworth family from Castle Donington as they attempt to reduce their carbon footprint and save money on their energy bills.

We've already worked out exactly how big the Hawksworths' carbon footprint is, and in turn how much they are contributing to global warming.

Now we want them to go 'low carb', and Declan is on hand to help.

In today's report on Breakfast, find out what happened when we let our energy saving experts loose on the family's house.

We've filled their wall cavities with insulation material, and had a look around their loft to see how much energy was literally disappearing through the roof.
