TRIC has been honouring stars for three decades
|
Despite some stiff competition, Breakfast has been voted the best daytime programme for the second year in a row.
The Television and Radio Industries Club awards were held at the Grosvenor House hotel on Tuesday.
Presenter Natasha Kaplinsky made it a hat-trick by winning the best newscaster category, and another TRIC for 'Strictly Come Dancing', in the entertainment programme category.
Winning a TRIC award is important for programmes as they are voted for by other members of the broadcasting industry.
Breakfast beat Channel 4's 'Richard and Judy', and 'This Morning' on ITV1.
Triumph
It's been a good year for Breakfast's Natasha. In June 2004 she triumphed in BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing programme.

Natasha was up against tough competition in the best newscaster category beating George Alagiah, Huw Edwards and ITV's Nicholas Owen.
She said: "Despite all the sequins and other exciting things I have done this year I'm so thrilled to still be considered a newscaster."
"Great boost"
The editor of Breakfast, David Kermode, added: "It's a real vote of confidence in what we do here at Breakfast and a great boost to the team.
"To win the best daytime award for the second year running is fantastic."
