could your family go green?
|
This week, the BBC has three days of special programmes looking at climate change. And here on Breakfast, we're looking for a family willing to take part in our climate change challenge.
You'd need to be willing to change your life-style and take part in films and live programmes next week (the 28, 29 and 30 of July).
An expert will advise you how to reduce your energy consumption, and we'll feature you live on the programme to see how you get on.
If you're interested e-mail us from the form below, or call our telephone information line which is open from 0730 to midnight, seven days a week.
The number is 08707 87 87 87
As well as our climate challenge, there will be three days of special programmes on News 24 and BBC One starting on the 28 July.
Julia Botfield was in Central London and explained how Breakfast viewers can get involved with our climate challenge.
She also talked to Dr Chris West who is the Director UK Climate Impacts Programme.
Climate change
The summer of 2003 saw the UK reach record high temperatures and while it may make us feel good in the short term what are the implications for the future?
For thousands of years, the world's climate has pretty much stayed the same, but in recent years, there has been a gradual rise in temperature.
And during the last decade of the 20th Century, the temperature was the warmest in many years.
This is compounded by a rise in sea levels, the melting of arctic ice and changing patterns of rainfall.

Breakfast kicks off the BBC's global warming season next week, on Wednesday July 28. The first BBC One special programme will be shown at 1230 BST, on Wednesday 28 July
You can use the form below to send us your details if you're interested in taking part in Breakfast's Climate Challenge.
