Clive James sings
Clive James live on BBC Breakfast
The moment when Clive burst into song
Comedy writer and broadcaster Clive James is best known for his TV appearances in the eighties and early nineties and shows such as Saturday Night Clive.

He is also a prolific novelist. But less well-known is his career as a song-writer, with six albums to his name

The albums - co-written with a friend, Pete Atkin, over the last three decades - were received with critical acclaim, but never quite took off.

But now, the duo are show-casing their work with a special 30-date national tour.

  • Clive James joined us live on Breakfast this morning, to explain why he's given up TV for live theatre. He ended up serenading our presenter, Natasha Kaplinsky

  • Clive James will play Queen Elizabeth Hall, London on Friday 6 June
