Meet the creator of Reggie Perrin
Leonard Rossiter as Reggie Perrin and Sue Nicholls as his secretary Joan Greengross
It's nearly 30 years since David Nobbs' most famous comic creation, burned-out marketing man Reggie Perin, appeared on our TV screens.

Nobbs: Perrin's creator

But the show's catch-phrases are still used by millions - and its dilemmas are recognisable to anyone who has ever worked in a large corporation.

  • On Breakfast this morning, we talked to Reggie Perrin's creator, the comic writer David Nobbs.

His fascinating career in show business has included stints writing for comic greats such as The Two Ronnies, Tommy Cooper and Ken Dodd.

He has also created and scripted two great comedy series, the Fall and Rise of Reginal Perrin for the BBC and A Bit of a Do, for ITV.

  • David Nobbs' Autobiography, I Didn't Get Where I Am Today David Nobbs is published by Heinemann at £17.99. ISBN: 0434008974
