Christmas Breakfast
This week, to get you in the Christmas spirit, Breakfast is broadcasting live from the Royal Opera House in London's Covent Garden.

Each morning, Philippa Forrester brings us a specially-extended programme, featuring the best of the arts, opera and ballet.

This morning (Monday) we brought you:

  • Darcey Bussell and Mario Testino in conversation. The Royal Ballet's principal dancer and the photographer Mario Testino, who's produced some beautiful back-stage portraits of the Royal Ballet at work.

  • Antonio PappanoThe Royal Opera House's new musical director tells us all about his job.

  • How do they remember all the steps to those classic ballets? Ballet notator Harriet Castor showed us the three-inch thick file she has for the Nutcracker, one of the nation's favourite Christmas ballets.

  • Behind the scenes: how do they stage productions like Swan Lake, La Traviata, the Nutcracker and the world premiere of Sophie's Choice?

  • A day in the life of the Royal Ballet School. Our cameras followed rising star Shevelle Dynot.

  • COMPETITION
