Sophie's last Breakfast
Sophie Raworth, BBC Breakfast presenter
Our presenter Sophie Raworth can bin the alarm clock today: it's her last ever Breafast shift.

But don't despair. She'll be back on our screens in the New Year, as the new face of the Six O'Clock News

In a tremendously busy programme, we still found time to say goodbye in style.

You can watch our round-ups of Sophie's time with us on this page.

And there'll be another chance to watch our interactive forum with her if you have digital satellite TV this Saturday morning, between 6am and 9am.

Sophie joined the programme in the summmer of 1997, when it was still called Breakfast News.

Baptism of fire

She had a baptism of fire: her first ever programme was co-presented with a German TV station, requiring live link-ups in both English and German.

Luckily, Sophie speaks German (and French) fluently - a skill which came in rather handy that morning.

"I remember standing in front of the bathroom mirror at 3 O'clock in the morning and thinking I'm just not going to make it to the end of the week," she recalls.

Thankfully, she was wrong. She's been presenting Breakfast ever since.

  • Yesterday she answered your e-mail questions in a special interactive forum.

You can find out how many male co-presenters Sophie's worked with over the years - and how many proposals of marriage she had in the space of three hours yesterday, in our 15-minute forum
