Dermot and Natasha: the new Breakfast team
Breakfast has signed Natasha Kaplinsky, to co-present the programme with Dermot Murnaghan.

Natasha will present her first programme with us on Monday November 18.

She's replacing Sophie Raworth, who's leaving to present the BBC's Six O'Clock News.

Natasha has been a co-presenter on Sky News' Live At Five.

She's also done a stint on Sky's early morning Sunrise programme, having joined Sky News in 2000.

Before that, she worked as a presenter on London News Network.

Natasha, 28, joined LNN in 1999 and presented London Tonight with Alastair Stewart.

"Breakfast is a dream job. I can hardly wait for the 3am alarm call!"

She was also the face of the lunchtime show London Today and has presented LWT's live Sunday morning current affairs programme Seven Days.

An Oxford graduate in English, Natasha joined Meridian TV in 1997 where she rapidly moved to a main presenter's role on Meridian Tonight, the station's evening news programme.

She says: "Breakfast is a dream job. I'm really looking forward to working with Dermot and the morning team.

" I can hardly wait for the 3am alarm call!"

Making her mark

Breakfast's editor Richard Porter says:

"We're absolutely delighted that Natasha is joining us and we are sure the partnership with Dermot will prove extremely popular with viewers.

"Natasha follows in a long tradition of Breakfast presenters who've made their mark on British broadcasting.

"Replacing Sophie was never going to be easy, but we think we've found the ideal combination of journalistic skills and friendly personality in Natasha."
