Are tall men sexier? Have your say
At a little over 5 foot tall, this is bad news to me. I was always told a woman likes a sense of humour and have spent some time polishing my own. So with this new information I suppose I will have to depend on my sense of humour to cheer me up.
David Haggarty, Glasgow

We tall men have evolved to help little old ladies reach the top shelves of the supermarkets.
Steve Wevill, Winchester

I have always been five feet eight and a half inches tall. As a teenager, no boy wanted to go out with me, making comments that they didn't want a lamp-post. When I see cosmetic surgery programmes, I am always sad that the only thing that would make me happy with myself is to be shorter and that can't be done. I can't wrear high heels and feel like a freak - it has ruined my life. I hate standing up in company and towering over nearly everyone.
Mel Wharton, Exeter

We are almost of the same height, as most of the couples we know here in The Netherlands. We think it might have to do, with the equality of men and women, in a lot of aspects in Dutch society. Has that ever been researched?
Mike & Petra, Ubbergen

Not all women prefer tall or taller men. I like a man to be of the same height or a little smaller. The archaic notion that a woman needs to feel protected by a taller partner just doesn't hold water. If a man is more than an inch or two taller than me, I feel as if I'm a child with parent - definitely not the stuff that romantic novels are based on.
Kären , Conwy

I love being tall and exude a lot of confidence. I need no man to make me feel good or sexy. I add to height with my averagely three and a half inch heels. I have no problem with shoes or clothes. BEING TALL IS SOOOOO GOOOD!!!!!! You can not chop off your legs, so why not make the most of it? You are unique in the way God created you.
Liz Bamigbola, Brixton Hill, London

As an ex-military man I can assert that little men tend to have a complex, which is manifested in extreme aggression and ruthlessness. My best captains were always tall, big men: assured, self-confident, tolerant and reassuring! I never met a small one whom I would have happily have followed into battle
Anthony Stodart, Fanjeux, France

What a lot of arrant, offensive prejudiced nonsense. In this day and age there is only one reason why people succeed or fail on the grounds of their size and shape. Prejudice. The people who wrote the report should understand that in a modern society this is discrimination and no more acceptable than discrimination on grounds of, say, race. Kindly stop going on about it because all it does is make discrimination and hatred sound acceptable. What do you think it feels like if you are a 5'3" bloke to switch on the TV first thing in the morning to be told that you're no use?
Martin Bucknall, Glasgow
