Prime minister's questions

Tory leader David Cameron has challenged Prime Minister Gordon Brown on the "deeply unpopular" change to Vehicle Excise Duty.

Referring to reported Labour criticism, Mr Cameron said: "If he doesn't get rid of it they will get rid of him."

But the prime minister accused Mr Cameron of hypocrisy over his party's environmental policies and of sounding like a "used car salesman".
