Ed Miliband says it would be a tragedy for this country to cut public spending - doesn't he realise the tragedy has already happened? How does he suggest we pay back the enormous debt this government has got us into? Diane Grist

Hi, I may be as thick as a plank, but why when we are running out of North Sea oil/gas why are we building these gas fired power stations. The more that are built will build up demand, and we are subject to vagaries of the market and the supply from Russia and elsewhere. Wind generators are alright when the wind blows, which then brings them down to be somewhere near to being 20/30% efficient, and at what a cost. I sometimes wonder at the economics of some of these decisions. Michael R Street

Interesting attempt across the board to promote Miliband. He has the answer to the future (of the Labour Party and the planet). On past and present evidence, one has to be concerned as to the question... But if he is still so hitched to the 'Gordon is the best person' no-wheeled wagon I doubt he will be worth interviewing much longer. Peter, UK

Before guests on the show slate the new vetting and barring system please could your programme do it's own research? As a volunteer myself I have to have several CRB checks as at present each organisation has to have it's own. The present CRB check lasts for three years and, as an MOT, is only as good as the day it is issued. Within those three years if an offence is committed the organisation will not necessarily find out. Under the new scheme you will only be needed to be vetted the once - this check can be presented every time you volunteer. Organisations will also be made aware of any offence you have committed stopping people from working with children/vulnerable adults. A far better system. Perhaps we should compliment it instead, I am not sayingit is perfect but it is definately a step forward. Jo McPherson, England

I thought that Alexi Sayle should have dressed himself a bit better for this show. He didn't wear socks, he wore a t-shirt and also he had one foot up on the seat. This is not sending out a good message out to younger people. The BBC should tell the guests to dress accordingly, after all everyone else on the programme managed to wear a shirt and tie.
