Egypt aid flight latest to Iraq
An Egypt Air plane has taken humanitarian aid to Iraq for the third time in the last month. On its arrival in Baghdad, the Iraqi Trade Minister Mohammed Mahdi Saleh thanked the Egyptian delegation of footballers, actors and businessmen, for an initiative which he said showed Egypt's rejection of the United Nations embargo and what he said was continuing aggression against his country. The plane is the latest in a series sent to Baghdad by countries opposed to the UN sanctions imposed in 1991 at the end of the Gulf War. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
