Iranian journalist's sentence reduced

An Iranian appeals court has reduced the prison sentence of a pro-reform journalist, Emadeddin Baghi, who was convicted on charges of political and religious dissent.

Mr Baghi's lawyer Mohammad Saleh Nikbakht told the BBC that the sentence had been cut from seven and a half to three years.

But they were hoping to get a further reduction, when appealing to the Supreme Court.

Mr Baqi was arrested in May.
