Iran's Rafsanjani warning over unrest
The former president of Iran, Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, has said the unrest in the western city of Khorramabad, which began last week, is not yet over. Addressing Friday prayers in the capital, Tehran, he said the violence demonstrated that, what he called the enemy, had entered the Iranian political scene in earnest. He said Iran would not tolerate any plots against it and would silence the voices of those who wanted to destroy it. A team of investigators has been sent to Khorramabad to try to find out who is responsible for the violence which began after two prominent liberals were prevented from addressing a student gathering in the city.
