Iraq MPs approve election reform

After weeks of debate, the Iraqi parliament has passed a law allowing a general election to go ahead as planned in January.

One of the contentious issues was how to distribute seats in the oil-rich city of Kirkuk.

President Obama has welcomed the vote which has been delayed more than ten times.
