Iraq's one million widows

Almost three decades of violence in Iraq have had a devastating social impact - not least from the fact that one million women have been widowed - several million children left without fathers.

Under Saddam Hussein, widows were supported by the state; now many live mostly hidden from view and without financial support.

Hugh Sykes reports.
