Biden: 'Lebanon should choose leader'

The US Vice-President Joe Biden has visited Lebanon, the first such high-level trip for over 25 years.

His visit comes at a time of tension in the country, with general elections just over two weeks away, in which the current western-backed majority could lose out to the Hezbollah-led opposition, which is backed by Iran and Syria.

But Mr Biden was careful to stay neutral, saying that "the Lebanese people alone should choose their leaders".

Jim Muir reports.
