Biden backs Lebanon democracy

US Vice-President Joe Biden has voiced his support for Lebanese democracy, on a visit ahead of the country's key legislative elections.

Mr Biden was greeted by Lebanese President Michel Suleiman as he arrived at the Presidential Palace, in Beirut.

The White House has said that Mr Biden's visit is to reinforce the US's support for Lebanese independence ahead of key legislative elections in the country.
