Pope backs Palestinian homeland

The Pope has called for the creation of a sovereign Palestinian state with "internationally recognised borders", on the latest leg of his tour of the Middle East.

After meeting the President of the Palestinian Authority, Mahmoud Abbas, he called on Israelis and Palestinians to come together to work for peace in the region.

Jeremy Bowen reports from Bethlehem.
