UN suspends Gaza aid operations

The UN has suspended its aid operations in the Gaza Strip. The decision was taken after a lorry on a UN mission came under Israeli fire. The suspension would continue "until the Israeli authorities can guarantee our safety and security", the UN said.

The humanitarian crisis has been coupled with a widening of the conflict and conditions are worsening for Palestinians in the territory.

Jeremy Bowen reports.
