Israel Arabs 'spied for al-Qaeda'

Alleged targets included the Azrieli Towers complex in Tel Aviv

Israel's security agency says two Bedouin have been charged with giving sensitive information to al-Qaeda and being members of a terrorist group.

The men are accused of giving site details of army bases, the airport near Tel Aviv and skyscrapers with the intention of harming state security.

Taher Abu Sakut and Omar Abu Sakut, from southern Israel, were arrested a month ago, a government statement said.

They are accused of contacting Muslim militants abroad via the internet.

The government statement said the men are accused of directing their contacts to Tel Aviv's Azrieli Towers and Ben Gurion International Airport, and areas from which they could infiltrate into Israel from the West Bank.

The statement did not give a date for the men's trial or if they admitted the charges.
