Life in Gaza: One year on

A year ago, the Islamic movement Hamas took control of the Gaza strip from the Palestinian Authority, controlled by the Fatah faction of the PLO.

Hamas's authority was not recognised by the international community and the territory was put under Israeli blockade.

Israel has said it will maintain its closure as long as missiles attacks by militant groups continue from the territory.

Middle East correspondent Paul Wood reports on life under the blockade.
