Israelis deny killing Hamas man
The Israeli army has said it had no involvement in the death of a Hamas militant in an explosion in Gaza on Thursday evening.

Hamas officials said one militant was killed and another was critically injured in an Israeli missile attack.

Hamas said the gunmen had been hiding in a shed in a field east of Gaza City scouting Israeli troop positions, when they were hit.

But an Israeli army spokesman denied any Israeli attack had taken place.

Israel said seven rockets had been fired from the Gaza Strip towards Israel earlier on Thursday. Three of the rockets hit Israeli territory, but no-one was injured.

Before Thursday's explosion, 10 militants and two teenaged Palestinian boys had been killed in Israeli missile attacks in Gaza since Monday.
