Newspapers in Iran argue that Tehran is in an advantageous position in its standoff with the West over its nuclear programme despite the imposition of UN sanctions.
Several commentators believe that the door is still open for talks aimed at resolving the issue, although some call for Tehran to withdraw from the nuclear non-proliferation treaty (NPT).
HARD-LINE KEYHAN
Enemies have powerfully entered the scene and they have done whatever they could. Being too lenient to enemies will embolden them. Withdrawing from the NPT is Iran's legal right on the basis of the Article 10 of the treaty.
CONSERVATIVE RESALAT
The UN Security Council is seeking to deprive Iran of its legitimate rights. America and England have forced Iran to withdraw from the NPT. The continuation of Iran's membership of the NPT is no longer justifiable.
HARD-LINE JOMHURI-YE ESLAMI
This is an opportunity for Iran. Iranians have always been successful in turning threats into opportunities. Relying on unity and national concord and paying no attention to the pre-conditions of enemies, we can return to the negotiating table and become the final winner of this story.
CONSERVATIVE TEHRAN-E-EMRUZ
Iran's reaction to the UN resolution could lead to its withdrawal from the NPT. Iranian officials have tested all possible peaceful ways to solve the problem, even unilaterally implementing confidence-building actions like the voluntarily implementation of the Additional Protocol.
MODERATE KARGOZARAN
Iran has got the upper hand in the nuclear issue. Now it is Tehran that sets the agenda for any possible negotiations. When the Majlis intervened and obliged the government to review its relations with the IAEA, while insisting that Iran doesn't want to withdraw from the NPT, it means that parliamentarians have called on the government to have dynamic relations with the world.
CONSERVATIVE JAM-E JAM
As a rule of thumb, it can be said that the UN's threatening resolutions have never played an effective role in solving any international crisis. If we witness certain crises coming to an end, it is usually through diplomatic negotiations. The UN resolution against Iran has not closed the doors of talks.
