Cheney Iraq trip reports denied
US Vice-President Dick Cheney
US troops are in Iraq for the fourth consecutive Thanksgiving
US Vice-President Dick Cheney's office has denied reports he was in Iraq for a previously unannounced visit to spend Thanksgiving with US troops.

Mr Cheney's visit was reported on Iraqi state TV, but neither the US embassy nor the US military could confirm it.

A spokeswoman for Mr Cheney said she was not aware of any plans for him to travel there later on Thursday.

US President George W Bush and Iraqi PM Nouri Maliki are due to meet in Jordan next week to discuss Iraqi security.

US military authorities have reported that three Marines were killed in the western province of Anbar on Wednesday.
