Five US soldiers killed in Iraq

Five US soldiers have been killed in two separate bomb attacks in Iraq, the US military has said.

Four soldiers died when a roadside bomb hit their vehicle north of Baghdad, a military statement said.

A fifth soldier was killed when a roadside bomb struck his vehicle in the west of the capital. Both attacks occurred on Sunday afternoon.

More than 2,600 US soldiers have died in Iraq since the US-led invasion was launched in March 2003.
