Palestinian financial crisis: Sudqui
I still support Hamas even though I've been greatly affected by the cutting of European and American aid.

I lay the blame firmly on the previous Fatah government for having left a legacy of ever-deteriorating conditions here.

I can no longer pay the rent on my flat near Bir Zeit University, near Ramallah, where I study.

My parents can't afford to send me my allowance any more, so I have to borrow money in order to be able to live.

I wasn't surprised by the reaction of the international community to the election of Hamas.

What was surprising was the reaction of Arab countries. They have let Hamas down.

We have been told that Arab states like Saudi Arabia and Libya support the Palestinians, but in reality we have been let down by everyone.

I still think though that if the crisis is to be solved, it will be through Arab countries, not the West.

In my view, Hamas would be committing a grave error if it decided to recognise Israel.

I think Fatah lost the elections precisely because it recognised Israel.
