Iran school blaze leaves 16 dead
A fire at a village school in south-western Iran has killed 15 children and their teacher.

Iranian education ministry officials said the fire started when a paraffin heater caught fire at the school in Safilan, in the Zagros mountains

They added that the teacher who died tried to throw it out of the room, but it hit a paraffin storage tank and the blaze intensified.

A medical team heading to the village was delayed by thick snow.
