Arafat's brother dies in Egypt
Fathi Arafat, the brother of the late Palestinian leader, has died of cancer in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

A medical doctor, he co-founded the Palestinian Red Crescent Society in 1968 and was its honorary president. His death came less than a month after his brother Yasser Arafat died in a French military hospital outside Paris.

Fathi Arafat, 67, had worked for many years in Egypt, Kuwait and Jordan, and owned a hospital in Gaza City. He was diagnosed with stomach cancer in 2000.

He was also a senior member of his brother's Fatah movement, the main political force in the Palestine Liberation Organisation.
