Baghdad blast 'targets' US convoy

A roadside bomb aparently targeting a US convoy has exploded in central Baghdad with no casualties.

The blast slightly injuring two soldiers, the US military said. Their humvee was also damaged.

During the night there were also around a dozen mortar or rocket explosions in the city, Reuters news agency said.

They seemed to occur at the heavily fortified Green Zone compound where the interim Iraqi government and the US embassy are based.
