Sudan Mosque Attack

Police in Sudan are reported to have arrested two men after an attack in which two people died and ten were injured, at a mosque in the south-east of the country.

The Sudanese news agency Suna said the attack, at Wad Medani one-hundred-and eighty five kilometres south-east of Khartoum came as people were leaving the mosque, after prayers on Saturday.

The authorities have blamed Islamic militants from a radical sect.

The agency said members of the same group attacked people performing prayers in a mosque in Omdurman in 1994.
