Libyan plane flies to DR Congo

Libya says it's evacuated a number of Arab families from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Libyan news agency JANA said a plane had picked the families up from Brazzaville, across the river from the Congolese capital, Kinshasa.

Libya is subject to an international air embargo over its refusal to hand over two suspects in the bombing of an American airliner over Scotland ten years ago.

But the Libyan news agency said the flight from Brazzaville was in line with an Organisation of African Unity resolution allowing flights on humanitarian grounds.
