Hezbollah remembers 'landmark victory'
Beirut¿s southern suburbs, a Hezbollah stronghold, is bedecked with Hezbollah flags and pictures of guerrillas
Hezbollah is celebrating the anniversary of the Israeli pull out
Text of report by Lebanese Hezbollah TV on 23 May, the eve of the anniversary of Israel's withdrawal from Lebanon.

On the Resistance and Liberation Day anniversary, Hezbollah issued a statement in which it said that this day is not just another day in history, but is a glorious day in the history of the nation.

This day marks a landmark in the liberation of the Arab will from the myth of the invincible (Israeli) army.

Hezbollah emphasised that the Lebanese resistance achieved victory as a result of its clear vision, honesty and readiness to offer sacrifices.

It also achieved victory thanks to the people who proved, through their steadfastness and unity, that the enemy was unable to dictate its will.

The statement added that it was proved that right and willpower do not belong only to the one who possesses weapons, and this battle is one of willpower.

Incomplete victory

Hezbollah congratulated the Lebanese people on this victory, which remains incomplete because there is still land under occupation; there are prisoners in jail, continuous Zionist threats, and minefields that cause death and terror among citizens throughout the liberated areas.

It emphasised that our joy over the victory will be complete with the achievement of national unity and close ranks, and our challenges should concentrate on the Zionist entity.

Hezbollah called on the Lebanese people to take part in the popular and official celebrations on Victory Day in the hope achieving full liberation.
