Iranian foreign minister in Beirut
The Iranian Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharrazi, is visiting Beirut today on a three-day regional tour, which will also take him to Syria. At the airport, Mr. Kharrazi is reported to have called for greater co-ordination among Islamic nations in the face of the continuing conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. He said that at the upcoming Arab summit in Amman on March 27th, new means should be found to support the Palestinian nation. On Sunday a Lebanese Foreign Ministry spokesman condemned Israeli policies of blockading Palestinian cities. From the newsroom of the BBC World Service |
