Bong... 2010 went off with a bang across the UK as hundreds of thousands gathered to celebrate on the streets.
The ever-popular Hogmanay party in the centre of Edinburgh didn't disappoint.
Fireworks lit up the London Eye, on the Thames, for seven-and-a-half minutes.
In Edinburgh the party included a firework show above the city's castle, a laser and light display in Princes Street and an outdoor concert with 80s band Madness and pop act Noisettes.
As well as the Edinburgh event, Scotland hosted a sell-out party in Glasgow and a celebration at Stirling Castle. The Inverness party was cancelled due to severe weather.
Dancing helped Edinburgh's 80,000 revellers tolerate temperatures of -6C (21F).
In London, more than 200,000 people gathered along the banks of the River Thames.
Partygoers enjoyed the fireworks on a clear and relatively mild night in London.
And if you can't make the effort to dress up on New Year's Eve, when can you?
What are these?
