Hundreds of French police have moved in to clear a makeshift camp set up by migrants in the northern port of Calais.
There was some resistance, with scuffles and arrests, as police cleared the camp known as "the jungle".
But many of the migrants seemed resigned to their fate.
Many of the scuffles involved those protesting for the rights of the migrants in the camp.
The activists tried to form a human chain to defend the migrants.
But police entered the camp and moved throughout unhindered.
On the last night of their camp, the migrants created a banner defending its existence.
They gathered around a fire to wait for the dawn operation to begin.
In the end, the migrants were brought out to awaiting buses and taken to centres to have their cases processed.
What are these?
