Farrah Fawcett, who soared to fame as part of the original Charlie's Angels line-up, has died aged 62. She is pictured here (left) alongside her co-stars Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.
Years before Jennifer Aniston, Fawcett became known for her long, feathered haircut - and a poster of the actress in a red one-piece swimsuit sold five million copies.
In 1973, Fawcett married Lee Majors, star of TV's The Six Million Dollar Man. The couple separated in 1979 and divorced three years later.
The star quit Charlie's Angels in 1977, after just one series, claiming producers were preventing her from growing as an actress.
Fawcett recently agreed to marry her long-term partner Ryan O'Neal. However, she died before they had a chance to exchange vows.
O'Neal and Fawcett had been romantically involved on and off since 1982. The couple have a son together called Redmond.
Although she became known as a pin-up, Fawcett later won critical acclaim for her dramatic roles in TV dramas like Burning Bed (1984), in which she played a battered wife.
Fawcett reunited with her Charlie's Angels co-stars Jackson and Smith at the Emmy awards in 2006.
The actress was a regular on Hollywood's party and award circuit until her diagnosis with anal cancer in 2006. She was given the all-clear in 2007, only for the cancer to return and spread to her liver.
Her fight had been the focus of a moving documentary, Farah's Story, released just weeks before her death. In a statement, her spokesman said Ms Fawcett had “passed to a better place".
