We start this week's gallery of readers' pictures on the theme of derelict with this photo by Choong Moon Ting of an abandoned flat in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
John Baltay spotted this shed in Antwerp, Belgium. He said: "What amused me was that this elaborate garden shed was left in a semi-derelict stage... such that its age had given it a charming list."
Lauren Barkume: "A ladder rests on the roof of a rondavel (traditional hut) owned by an artisan working with Aid to Artisans in the Eastern Cape, South Africa."
Andy Parker: "The neighbourhood in Lisbon, Portugal, where this restaurant can be found appears to have seen better days."
Chantal Rechaussat: "Shot in a back lane of Shanghai's former French concession, this derelict chair displayed a delightful lilac hue against the grey surroundings."
Linda Loughead: "This sad little Welsh stone cottage is adjacent to the station in the village of Llansanffraid Glan Conwy. Until recently it was hidden by a block of public toilets which were demolished by the local authorities."
Andrew Gillott photographed this bicycle in Puerto Morelos, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
Vic Barton-Walderstadt: "This is the signal box at St Albans South in 2006 before restoration by the St Albans Signal Box Preservation Trust. The photo was made black and white to emphasise the state of decay the box had been allowed to fall into."
Caroline McArthur: "I spotted this piano on a back street of Murrurundi in New South Wales. I was charmed by the colours in the fading woodwork, the peeling keys and the general air of sad dilapidation about it."
Jillian Russo: "This poor little car in Massachusetts, USA, has become part of the landscape around it, having apparently been dumped long ago."
What are these?
